MRT commuters on the Downtown Line will be getting to their destinations on board trains made by Canadian group Bombardier.

These sleek 'Movia' trains, now used in cities such as London, Berlin, Shanghai and New Delhi, are said to be energy-efficient and 90 per cent recyclable.

The trains on the other lines of the MRT network are from either Germany's Siemens, France's Alstom or Japan's Kawasaki.
