PENANG, MALAYSIA: - Several thousand protesters in Penang called on Malay rulers to revoke the citizenship of Malaysians who dispute Malay special rights and demanded safeguards to their special position in the constitution.

Most of the participants were wearing red-coloured head-bands which read 'Allahu Akbar' (God is Great) and black pro-ISA T-shirts, Malaysiakini online news reported yesterday.

The organisers said the protesters totalled 4,000 people. Malaysiakini said 1,500 turned up.
