Tagore estate dorms in poor shape

QUESTION marks hang over the livability of some foreign worker dormitories in Tagore Industrial Estate, which saw a chicken pox outbreak this week.

Neither of the two dorms hit by the illness, for example, has sick bays or basic recreational facilities for the workers living there.

Checks by The Straits Times on six other foreign worker dorms in the area also turned up less-than-ideal living conditions. Most were cramped, dingy and poorly ventilated.
