SINGAPORE Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and its subsidiary, SPH Magazines, have been awarded multiple accolades at the 2010 Magnum Opus Awards.

Two of SPH's contract publishing titles, Petir and VOICES, which are published by Focus Publishing Ltd (a subsidiary of SPH), garnered a total of four awards, including the Bronze Award for Best Series of Articles (Petir) and an Honourable Mention for the Best Overall Editorial (VOICES). Focus Publishing publishes Petir for the People's Action Party and VOICES for the Central Singapore Community Development Council.

SPH Magazines also turned in a stellar performance by winning a total of six awards, including the Gold Award for Best Editorial - New Publication (Singapore Health) and the Silver Award for Best Design - New Publication (MGZine).

The Magnum Opus Awards is organised by ContentWise (properties of McMurry in the U.S., a world-leader itself in content marketing) in conjunction with the Missouri School of Journalism. Professors from the Missouri School of Journalism and leading custom-publishing professionals who specialise in particular content or design areas judged the awards based on a defined set of criteria specific to each of the categories. This year, they received more than 550 entries.

Apex Awards 2010

SPH Magazines also scored a couple of wins at the Apex Awards 2010 with SilverKris (Dec 2009 issue) bagging the Award of Excellence, Design & Illustration and MGZine getting the Award of Excellence, New Magazines & Journals.
