A cottage that evokes the world of Hello Kitty will open Thursday on Awajishima island, Hyogo Prefecture, with expectations high that it will attract many visitors including foreign tourists.

The operator of Grand Chariot Hokutoshichisei - where guests can enjoy luxurious meals while surrounded by nature - renovated one of its facility's 23 cottages in a Hello Kitty theme.

The image of the world-famous character can be found on the cottage's mirror, wall, skylight and even the package of bath powder.

The cottage is available for groups of two to four people. Prices start from ¥92,000 ($1,116.90) per night with two meals, excluding tax and service charge.
